What GRWN’s SCS-007 Achievement Means

SCS-007 is an independent sustainability standard for diamonds, designed to assess more than gemological quality alone.

What GRWN’s SCS-007 Achievement Means

The certification covered environmental, social, governance, climate and chain-of-custody criteria across the diamond supply chain.

Beyond diamond grading

A traditional grading report tells you about the diamond itself: its origin, measurements, color, clarity, carat weight and other gemological characteristics.

SCS-007 looks at something different.

Its scope includes sustainability and traceability across the processes and companies involved in producing and handling the diamond.

The two types of verification answer different questions.

Why chain of custody matters

A sustainability claim is stronger when information can be maintained as a diamond moves through production, cutting, polishing, grading, manufacturing and distribution.

SCS-007 includes chain-of-custody requirements intended to support that level of accountability.

For GRWN, achieving the standard meant building systems around documentation and traceability rather than relying simply on the fact that its diamonds were lab-grown.
